WE'RE SO GLAD YOU'VE JOINED US!

Here at Troop 437, we're all about family!  When you register your child for Scouts, everyone becomes a member.  Parents, guardians, aunts and uncles, grandparents, godparents, and (of course) siblings, are welcomed and encouraged to join in on the fun.  Not only will your Scout make new friends, but you'll find that you do as well.  That atmosphere is something we're very proud of and look forward to each year.

Now that you've registered, you may be wondering what to do next.  Here are the Troop 437 1-2-3's for getting started!

1. SCOUTBOOK: A few days after you submit a youth application, either paper or electronic, your Scout will be registered with Troop 437.  Ozark Trails Council regularly syncs their records with Scoutbook, the program we use to communicate with families and track your Scout's advancement.  When that happens, you'll receive an email asking you to connect to your Scout's account.  It's very important that you open that email and follow the instructions.

2. FACEBOOK: We have a private Facebook group for families only.  This group is where we post photos, event reminders, share events, and more!  You need to be invited to this group by a member or request access.  For the privacy of our Scouts, we are very careful about who we provide access to.  You are welcomed to invite grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, etc.  Please let us know in advance by sending us an email at troop437sm@gmail.com or making a post in the group - that way we don't deny them access.  Join us there when you can!

3. DISCORD: We utilize Discord for much of our communications outside of meetings.  Once a new Scout has joined our troop we will invite both the Scout and his/her parents to join our Discord server.  Each scout has their own channel where they can communicate directly with leaders if needed. To maintain a safe environment and no one on one contact with leaders all youth accounts will include his/her parents as well as at least two Troop leaders.

4. NEW PARENT GUIDE & CALENDAR:  Our New Parent Guide includes everything you need or want to know about our upcoming year.  There's something for everyone, like how our Troop is organized, how we communicate, what you need to buy for your Scout, uniforming requirements, what our Troop dues are, and more.  Our troop calander is updated in real tima and at every PLC/planning meeting. This is one of the best ways to know about any upcoming meetings and activities. The calander link is located at the top of this site.
